No, No - Eoghan Lyng (Poetry)

Love, a miracle to touch, a tragedy to miss. This is a story as old as mankind, and one to which we all relate. This poem by Eoghan Lyng is an inverted sequel to 'Yes, Yes' which can be read here.

No, no, not on a rainy night,

Nor on a sunny one,

Will I ask you to marry

A soul any different to mine

Or similar.

Neither will I be happy

Having another person kiss you

As I might kiss you

In a way I only know how to kiss you

Through the name of happiness.

And never would I rest

Until arms have undressed

Your clothes in my arms

And your lips on my lips

Two souls lost in the night.
