I was chasing my tail, getting nowhere.
So much to do, so little time. How could I possibly learn all the tasks which had been assigned to me?
I was totally new to all of this, and wanted to prove that I was as competent as the 'old dogs' in the business.
Of course I was scared- who wouldn't be? But if they thought I'd quit, they'd be sorely disappointed. I'd been chosen for my determination. Time and again I'd proved myself in their tests.
Gritting my teeth, I tried again.
I sat down.
"Good puppy," they said.
