Writing has been a passion since I was ten years old when I wrote my first poem in protest of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. It runs in the family, my father is a writer. It runs in my heritage and blood, I was born in Afghanistan and poetry is how we express love, hate, feuds and friendships. My influences are many including the great Mawlana Jalaludeen Balkhi (Rumi), Rabia al Basri, the great Hafiz, Attar and Gibran. I tend to lean towards spiritual, love, and soulful poetry. I find it healing and calming to my chaotic mind.
